Mitsouko is part of Guerlain's Legendary Perfumes collection. A collection made up of iconic fragrances, composed for over a century by 5 generations of Perfumers. Mythical perfumes, deeply innovative for their time, that make up a unique olfactory library, an incomparable and unparalleled treasure that Maison Guerlain is committed to perpetuating.
As a tribute to the heroine of the novel La Bataille, which was a great success at the time, Jacques Guerlain named his creation Mitsouko. A beautiful Japanese woman married to a British officer in secret love. In 1905, the Russo-Japanese war broke out. Dominating her feelings with nobility, Mitsouko patiently awaits the outcome of the battle.
Jacques Guerlain's incredible idea, which gives this perfume all its modernity, is to have dared to combine a chypre with a fruity note like peach.
Designed by George Chevalier, its mythical "inverted heart" bottle is accentuated by graceful volutes characteristic of Art Nouveau. A true technical feat, its avant-garde heart-shaped cap evokes the delicate romanticism of this monument of perfumery.
