Shalimar is the first oriental fragrance in the history of perfumery.
Shalimar Eau de Parfum is a legendary fragrance with notes of bergamot, iris, and vanilla; an intense trail with a hint of sultriness, always incandescent, embodying a sensuality on the edge, a touch of forbidden.
Inspired by the story of a passionate love between an emperor and an Indian princess, Shalimar, which means "Temple of Love" in Sanskrit, forever symbolizes the essence of desire, the promise of eternal love.
In 1925, the bottle of Shalimar, designed by Raymond Guerlain, won the first prize at the Decorative Arts Exhibition in Paris. Its curves are inspired by the basins of the famous Shalimar gardens. The fan-shaped stopper, with sapphire transparency, recalls its eternal water jets.
