Dolce & Gabbana is the story of what happens when two talented designers meet: Domenico Dolce, born in 1958 near Palermo (Sicily), and Stefano Gabbana, born in 1962 in Milan. World-renowned as designers to the stars, their styles have been worn by the greatest of the greats. These two life and business partners met as assistants working in a Milan atelier. It was at the "New Talent" competition in 1985 that the two men decided to combine their names and talents and launch their own first collection during the womenswear runway show. Primarily inspired by high-color prints and detailing, Dolce & Gabbana are described as being major contributors to the hippie haute couture style inherent to the spirit and history of Italian cinema.
