Thierry Mugler is a French haute couture designer and stylist, known for both his clothing and his fragrances. He started out as a self-employed designer working in several major European cities. In 1973, he launched his first "Café de Paris" collection, which set the tone and introduced clients to his style from the get-go. The designer soared to international renown in the 1980s and 1990s with collections that met with huge commercial success. As a well-known name in the fashion industry, he decided to experiment with fragrance, and launched Thierry Mugler Parfums in 1990. His first fragrance, Angel, was released in 1992. This ultra-memorable blue perfume had an entire generation hooked. Thierry Mugler retained his position as Artistic Director of the Thierry Mugler Parfums brand until 2013.
