Rahua is a leading name in the skincare and cosmetics industry. The brand was born as a result of all the many different people that founders Anna Ayers and Fabian Lliguin were lucky enough to meet, and is known for its ultra-green ingredients lists. Rahua has only ever used natural-origin ingredients. It all started back when Fabian traveled to the Amazon, and noticed how incredibly long and luscious the local women's hair was. It turned out that hungurahua oil was the secret to their glossy, silky locks. This precious oil is used by one of the forest's native tribes to nourish skin and hair. Intrigued by this game-changing discovery, Fabian brought back a small sample of rahua oil with him. Back in New York, he decided to use it on one of his client's very dry and damaged hair, without really expecting much of a difference. He left the oil on for a few minutes, and was mesmerized by the transformation: the client's hair was left deeply nourished and super shiny. The results spoke for themselves, and Fabian's imagination took flight. He had in his hands a precious ingredient that could prove life-changing for so many people. The oil is still made by an Amazonian tribe called the Quechua-Shuar. The second important encounter Fabian was to experience was Anna Ayers, a renowned New York colorist and facialist. The two began dating a short while later, and their shared passion for beauty and hair was key to them deciding to launch a business together. Fabian told Anna about the secret ingredient he had found. Once she had experienced its effectiveness for herself, she was convinced the oil would prove hugely beneficial to the general public. They set up Rahua in 2008, shaping a brand that puts respect, tribal wisdom and the powers of the oil center stage. All the brand's products are packed full of natural ingredients such as healing oils and plants. Over 5,000 Amazonian tribal families currently work with the Rahua brand.
